WebCD Globe ISO 9660 Options


Specify ISO 9660 Volume Descriptors. Volume Descriptors are a set of fields defined by the ISO 9660 standard that allow you to record information about the CD. All of this information is optional, however, it is good practice to adhere strictly to the ISO 9660 standards when writing a CD-ROM.

Access this dialog by selecting Options from the Build menu and then clicking the ISO 9660 tab.

Names

Volume Name

Recommended. Assign a name to the volume, maximum 32 d-characters.

System Name

Enter the operating system under which the application will run, maximum 32 a-characters.

Vol Set Name

Volume set name for a disc that is part of a set of discs, maximum 32 d-characters. Every disc in the set will have the same name recorded in this field.

CD Identifiers

Publisher

Enter the publisher of the disc, maximum 128 a-characters.

Data Preparer

Enter the name of the author of the content of the disc, maximum 128 a-characters.

Application

Enter the application name, if any, maximum 128 a-characters.

Information File Names on Disc

Enter ISO 9660 compliant file names (maximum 8.3 d-characters) for the following options. The specified files are copied to the root of the CD Image folder. If a non-ISO 9660 compliant name is entered, the name is automatically converted to be ISO 9660 compliant. One warning is issued indicating the converted file name that will be used when writing to CD. The hard disk file name is displayed in this dialog.

Copyright

Enter the name of the file that contains your copyright notice, maximum 8.3 d-characters. WebCD Packager writes this file, if entered, in the root directory of the CD (as called-for in the ISO 9660 standard).

Abstract

Enter the name of the file that contains your abstract (description of the work), maximum 8.3 d-characters. WebCD Packager writes this file, if entered, in the root directory of the CD (as called-for in the ISO 9660 standard).

Bibliographic

Enter the name of the file that contains bibliographic information such as an ISBN number, maximum 8.3 d-characters.

Dates

Enter the creation, modification, and effective dates for your CD.

Creation

CD creation date. Defaults to today's date.

Modification

CD modification date.

Effective

Date that the CD contents becomes effective, if different from the Creation date.

Expiration Date for the CD

The expiration date and expiration warning help you to set up a distribution schedule for your WebCD and prompts your users to call to request an updated WebCD. For example, you may wish to distribute a CD once every six (6) months. You can set the expiration date for six months from your distribution date and the expiration warning for This WebCD is expired. Please call us at xxx-xxx-xxxx for an update!" The expiration warning message will be displayed whenever the user views the WebCD after the specified expiration date.

Expiration

CD expiration date.

Note If you do not want the CD to expire, leave the expiration date blank.

Expiration Warning

Warning message that will come up when the CD has expired.

OK

Closes the dialog, saving any changes.

Cancel

Closes the dialog without saving any changes.

Help

Opens the help text.
